Portal: Prelude 1.1.5 released!

Posted by Nicolas (permalink)

That's it! More than 350,000 downloads later, Portal: Prelude 1.1.5 (final) is released!
This new version is shipped with more than 115 bug fixes, improvements and additions (since 1.0.0). We know everything's still not perfect (voices, grammar, difficulty), but we believe we put enough work in this mod and thus, this version should be considered final (except if something really bad happens). Warning! Savegames are NOT compatible. Your progress with chapters unlocking is saved, but not savegames.

Also, there was so much changes to the game files that it's pretty much useless to release a cumulative patch from 1.1.0 to 1.1.5. It would be nearly as big as the complete installer itself. Please note that there's nothing worth redownloading the whole mod again if you already downloaded it, as it's mostly graphical improvements, optimizations and minor bug fixes.

As they told us, they changed so many things, a patch wouldnt be much smaller than the full version:

"It will be a full release only, because mostly everything was altered. But you don't need to download it if you already played the game, it's only a bunch of minor fixes and a few additions."

Why devs are reducing difficult with each patch? Who want easy Portal play's Valve game, Portal: Prelude and PFLV Map Pack should be more hardcore.

Wow! Thanks for the citation in the log! I now feel obliged to give Portal Prelude another chance! After being stuck for 2-3 (maybe 4) hours in test chamber 19 (yes, I had the cube and I saw every walkthrough... simply I wasn't able to perform the portal trick to reach the upper level... Ok! I'm a beginner! ;P) I 'left for Left 4 Dead' (and Stalker)! :)

We're not reducing the difficulty, we're fixing bugs.

No problem. If you're stuck, you can still try to cheat past this little jump.

Francis would say: "I hate cheating!" :)

Is the final boss battle music still what it was from the start, or what ended up happening with that music?
