Hey all, I was looking for some other games to play while I wait on a few mods to complete and found this- I want to thank the developers, testers, and all involved for making an entertaining game
A few test chambers I found myself trapped in, but I feel that was mostly due to my own stupidity (and sometimes blind clicking)
I finished playing it through 2 times, and must say I had a great time with it! I very much enjoyed several gameplay elements in it that I didn't find in the original portal, some of it enchanted me so much I played it through a 3rd time with the commentary enabled, I was pleased to read all the little details explained that I had made a mental note of being awesome earlier(like since I really enjoy knocking down the cameras, I really enjoyed the chamber in which you knocked down a camera and it then knocked down a turret you couldn't see, and to read the commentary about it was just icing on the cake). I really liked the synthesized voices at the start, but they got tedious through the middle of the game, but then miraculously near the end of the game I fell in love with them again, somehow... Only minor grammatical and spelling errors throughout the game (some in commentary), but I think that's easily forgiven between the development crew and the fact that glados 'herself' is nonsensical at times, it seems to just fit right in. I personally would have liked to see some aperture science shower curtains since it was a prequel, and perhaps a anti-heimlich procedure poster, but this would have more of a nuisance to integrate into the game.
I went through the official walk through and was proud of myself for accomplishing most of the test chambers backwards from the methods outlined there (lol). I think the most frustrating moment I had was the first time I went through the game, it took me hours to get to glados, and I finally survived glados's first attack, got the upgraded portal gun, got sloshed around alot by glados after getting back there, almost got the morality core to glados 2 times and succeeded on the third, and with me on the catwalk with the orb right at the point I was supposed to get it at, the game crashed!!!!!! the last save point ended up being somehow at the beginning of chamber 18, I was depressed for about an hour over that (lol) other than that, I really got tired of hearing the scientists ask "who the hell created the last room" in chamber 13 because I had to repeat it so many times in different portions of it.
The third time with the commentary I noticed that the rooms the devs thought were specifically easy I had a tough time with, and some of the more complicated ones I figured out right away. The devs also kept speaking of all the entities in game, so on the last level I played a little game with the ones I could pick up... this was the result...

I did break a few items getting it all there, but I think I got most of the props from the conference room to most of the aperture labs (before they lock you out) on the table... it's a yard sale I guess (lol).
but after that demo I see how they used up all those entities when you consider all the stuff that's on that one map.
I also liked that glados inherited some of the evilness of the scientists too, I think having the morality core in here softened her up in the actual portal game, because she was darn right mean in this one!
Thanks for an enjoyable game, the attention to detail was outstanding and I really enjoyed the darkness and humor of it too.
