Well I can say I have thoroughly LOVED this game so far... but unfortunately I am stuck on the last level... I was able to get up onto the crazy platform but I can't figure out what to do from there. Is anyone else this far?

Do you have your companion cube? I personally cheated the level before (well not cheated, there was a pretty lame bug that let you pass that level without doing anything).
So if you got there without a companion cube, you did it wrong. Well atleast, that's the conclusion I came to.
If not, it's actually a hard room, so keep on trying, listen around you.

yeah I have the cube. Nothing seems to do anything in the room and I don't have an orb.

lets just say, you can go back to the previous level to get a cube.
my hint is, you don't have to run too far back up the stairs to get back to the previous level.

I haven't completely given up yet. I think I can pull it off after I get some sleep. But after completing 18 and getting the cube. I go to 19 and I am having the hardest time. After spending an hour flying around making no progress I think it's time to take a break.

I am stuck in the big room.
I have the companion cube and I activated the button... I tried to jump, but it's impossible to go to upper level.
What must i do?

Layman's terms.
Edit: the phrase "layman's terms" is a reference to someone named Layman. You could probably wiki it if you were more interested in the etymology of the phrase.
Edit2: I looked it up (because I have nothing better to do!) and apparently layman (or a layperson) is someone who is a non-expert in a given field of knowledge, there wasn't actually anyone named Layman.

I've got the cube, the radio and have pressed the button that extends the wall sections. I've tried everything I can think of. Getting the cube on a wall section and jumping on top of it, fail. Using the stair case that leads to the button to build momentum to fling myself, fail. Sending the energy ball at the glass of the button room to break it, fail.
And those red Xs on the floor taunt me...

Okay, so I beat the game last night... It was around 9 o'clock when I got to stage 18/19. and I beat the game at 12:30 ... I had alot of trouble on the slanted piece... But I got it. So I figured out that if you hold up while going through the portal, your projectory will be way higher than it is without holding up. So I just held up until I started to hit the ceiling then I shot my portal from the slant to the moving slant and let go of up(w) and I got right up.

So, I finally beat 19, the stairs hint was a HUGE help, and once I had that the rest of it was actually possible finally. The second part of 19 was a blast, that right there is my favorite type of flying. Haven't actually beaten the game yet, I sadly have to get some work done, but once I'm done with that this end boss is going down.

No problem, trying to help as subtly as possible.

Okay, so I ran through the whole game without any help, I EVEN noticed the stairs by myself. I have to say that this is an awesome game, but what I CAN'T get to work is correctly jumping out and in to the next portal to get to those higher platforms, I've been working on that for hours now, and even IF I get up there, how will I get the cube there? I'm so totally lost. I heard somewhere that I have the push the up arrow, but all I get then is hitting the ceiling before I get closer to either of the edges.
And when I try to shoot at the moving platform when I reached the peak, LAND in the right portal and get flung out from the platform that moves from time to time I STILL don't make it. Do I just suck at this or...?
Either way, I'm heading to bed before I turn crazy, I hope I'll have an hint or answer when I wake up.

Here is a little hint:
When there is a place to get to, there is always a portal to be made, whether it be where you land or around the corner. Search all walls and floors.
As for the jumping strategy:
The X's hold the key as your height will be equal or greater than the ledge across from you, so after gaining height why not go straight up instead of across? To get up to the double arrowed ledge, after gaining height it is easy as the first, the moving ramp is just too finicky.

Don't take the cube with you. Think with portals.

So, once you've got the cube in place and you've activated the plasma ball thing...and can press the buttons to move the walls around...
what next?
I can't get the plasma ball to go in to the room with all the plasma catchers...it always dissipates before it gets there.
Any ideas on how to actually get the plasma ball up there fast enough so it goes in to that room?

Okay, so I finally found out that I had to look on the FLOOR above there to find anything that could help me. Seeing I'm colorblind it was pretty hard to see. First problem with that that occurred, thanks for reminding me to look around better Andrewc0.
And the cube thing was pretty obvious when I got up there.
At this moment I'm at work, but I finally got through room 19.
Can't wait to get home and continue with this game.
EDIT: Hamster, you know you can rotate the walls with those buttons multiple ways right? The path is pretty simple, even though I think there is only one, try to find out if there's a quicker way. Or so I think.

I got it to work, finally.
There's a small bit of portal-able wall up there and I had a portal on it, but apparently not over far enough, so the plasma ball was just bouncing off and dissipating. I moved the portal over a bit and it all worked out. Plasma ball goes through the portal, pops out of the portal in the room with the plasma ball catchers and all is good.
I finished the mod a few hours ago, it was pretty good, if not a little rough around the edges and quite atrocious in the dialogue department.

I got through the first large room in Chamber 19 and have made it to the REALLY REALLY TALL room...not sure where to go from the starting platform. I can't seem to make it up to Platform 3 (and why is the floor numbered 4? I think I need to use it in my first jump!).

The spot you are standing on now, the solid part, right besides the door has I believe an portal-able wall a bit higher, shoot there and shoot right next to you, that way you can jump out out the portal while shooting the first platform, from there it's easy to figure out, oh and don't forget your cube <3
Offline
you can just leave the cube down and come get it later when you have a portal up there. it would be a pain to bring it there manually
(advanced chamber anyone? since i haven't gotten that far in the chamber 19 advanced)

OK, after I got to the first platform, the rest was easy. OK, not easy, but possible with a gratuitous amount of quicksaves/quickloads. Thanks for the help.
