Greetings.

I really enjoyed the game so far, though it was a bit tricky sometimes, but I managed to get through most of it.

Unfortunately I'm stuck right now, because the game crashes at the same spot all the time.
It happens right after disturbing the meeting about Black Mesa. There's this guy telling me to enter the service tunnels and then after two corridors theres this tiny room with a ladder on the right side. As soon as I get too close to that ladder the game crashes saying "hl2.exe encountered an error bla bla bla".

I already tried to use an older save, replaying the whole level and running the game at lowest details and in dx8 mode, without success. Every time I cross this invisible line the game crashes immediately, even if I'm looking at the wall in the opposite direction while crossing it.

hm alright... i just started a new game at that chamber and it did the trick. no more crashing at that spot and i was able to finish the game.

weird error though.

Mine crashed once, the first time I passed that spot. I just opened the game and loaded my save and it worked fine after that. Same thing happened when you meet the guy that tells you to go through the service tunnels.

Mine also crashed the first 5 times or so, then stopped strangely.

I also got it when you just come out of the broken cube-transporter pipe after getting the portal gun after GlaDOS turns on.

I got the same crash, it happens when you look down into that pit. Not sure what would be doing that, likely a texture, but it works fine if you just don't look down.

Just registered and posting to say I get this exact same crash too. Up until this point the game ran great. Going to try not looking down... nope that's not it.

Reloaded again from the auto-save and then it worked.

Got up to the part where I just left the cube tube and then it crashed again.

Strange, there's absolutely nothing special here.
I just looked to see what could happen and there was just an autosave at the previous door.
I moved it a bit further, but I don't know if it will solve anything.
Anyway, as far as it's just random, it's not worth trying hours and days to find out what could happen.
