is there a way to get the counter on the advanced maps?? that would make things easier than writing a tally on a piece of paper...
see in chamber 19 whether u can get up to the area where the button is, in only 2 portals... :p its possible... involves a bit of building though... lol

Yeah I've seen your post in the speed run topic 
Maybe NykO18 could fix this... Although I doubt that he will, 'cause the release of the patch is so close by. Maybe we can do it ourselves by changing some stuff in some folders? I wouldn't have a clue how to do it though!
About 19, do you mean getting the cube, and jumping all the way up to the upper platform in 2 portals?

no, i mean, u know u go ut of the elevator and into the room with the enrgy ball, when u look up, the area you have to get to to press a button to open a door into the other room so you can put the energy balls in the recievers...

the ledge in the very top right hand corner of the pic...
also, i know how to add the challenges folder, except an item kind of thing is required in the actual map for it to actually count the steps/portals/time..
i tried before with someone elses map to make a challeneges script, but the map didnt have the thing...
i think it is pretty easy to have the challeneges thing...
nykO18... if ur reading this... do you think it would be possible??

haha! after writing the above post, i made some modifications to a few files and, viola! it worked! i have timers and stuff for all the advanced maps!
i will make sure it is all working (i did it a bit hastily) and post it 2moro...

that chamber 14 one does use bumping... you bump a portal onto the other side of the glass...
and 13 is kinda not legit cos u use the cube to climb out of the portal and up onto the ledge... the other vid of that level in 3 portals, the person uses a turrent so they dont have to do that and making it 100% legit...

For Chamber 14, if you use portal bumping, you can do it in 4 portals. Why doesn't anyone just use a turret to jump onto the X signpost, and leave the level? Its really simple.

because it isnt legit... portal bumping is not a completely legit way of solving the level (in my opinion)
on the topic of chamber 14... i have done the challenege map in 6 portals...
i had just videod me doing it in 7, then i figured id have a go at doing it in 6... i knew how to do it, but wasnt sure if it was possible... but i was able to do it.... gonna have to video it now... lol

Yeah well, like Kingpin pointed out, a debate about a method being legit or not is pretty pointless. We could never have a consensus.
I haven't really been active the last week 
But now I'm back lol. I've updated to OP with the new stuff. Keep those awesome records coming people!

I would recommend, before we get too deep into this stuff, that we set some kind of rules for what is and is not legit. And, I don't think that what's considered legit in a speedrun should NOT be considered legit in a least portals run.
Also, I just uploaded a Chamber 15 - 3 portals LEGIT run.
I'll post the link to it when it finishes processing, or you can check my youtube account (HiTheyCallMeJosh) for the video when it's in.
2 seems impossible...

Yeah... The table that I made on the first post is all stuff from 1.0.0.
All new stuff will be added to a new table. Also, in my new vids I'll add that they are from patch 1.1.0. That way there isn't any confusion.

Well, of course I have to be nearly done with recording my chamber 17 in 10 portals ('legit'), to find out how to save one portal... I hope I manage to record that one tomorrow, or you'll have to wait another week to see my amazing skills 
Until it's done, another video:
chamber 14 - 5 portals ('legit')
and someone not as lazy as me should combine the techniques of me and TehAwes0me to get 4 portals in chamber 5, I don't like imperfect records ^^

It doesn't look like people still get on here much these days, but I was looking for a record for least portals in chamber 19. I managed to get it in 3 portals (with a lot of exploits). So I was wondering if that is the record, or if someone has done it in 2, which I think might be possible with A LOT of work (and luck). I can link a screen shot if needed.

It is downright impressive, but as stated on the Challenge Ladder page:
You must not exploit bugs of the engine. Some are tolerated (ABH, using objets to jump from a higher spot, blocking doors, stacking objets, etc.) while some others are not (out of bounds, portal bumping, edge glitching, jumping repeatedly on objets to fly, etc.).
