The mod installed in D:\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods
I did restart my steam client and pc also, nothing changes it just doesnt appear there.
I've downloaded the full thing, unless the patch installer takes over 700mb of space .
So any ideas what's wrong?

My apologies, I honestly can't believe I missed that. I'll try not to let it happen again.
In your SourceMods folder, do you have a folder called "portal prelude" or a load of folders (maps, models, materials etc.)? If so, make a portal prelude folder and shift them all in there.
If you've got a folder called "portal prelude" are all of those folders in there or do you have another "portal prelude" folder? If so, move that folder into the main SourceMods directory.
Also, I noticed you've got Steam installed on D. Is that the same drive that Portal is on? If so, is it a Steam version of Portal.

Yes, everything with steam is in D since i use C only for windows and programs, and since steam has games in it i put it in D. Yes mod has a separate folder in sourcemods folder.
No there is no prelude folder in the prelude folder. <--- tricky answer.

In that file you should have:
"GameInfo"
{
game "Portal: Prelude"
title "Portal: Prelude"
type singleplayer_only
nodifficulty 1
hasportals 1
nocrosshair 1
nomodels 1
developer "Nicolas 'NykO18' Grevet"
developer_url "http://www.portalprelude.com"
manual "http://www.portalprelude.com/forum"
icon "resource/prelude"
FileSystem
{
SteamAppId 400
ToolsAppId 211
SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game portal
Game hl2
}
}
}
If you don't, get rid of everything in the file, paste that in and restart Steam.

If you solved it, please post the solution you were sent. Allot of people have been experiencing this issue. I suggest a new thread if you're going to post it.
Most of these people don't even have Portal installed or at least not in a legal way.
Believe me, I receive a lot of boring emails.

Hi, I have a similar problem, so I didn't make another topic.
I installed everything (from Orange Box) like this:
D:/Games/Orange Box
D:/Games/Orange Box/SteamApps/SourceMods
Is there a way, that the problem's with the "Orange Box" folder, instead of "Steam"?
It did it automatically, and if possible, I don't want to reinstall everything...
Oh, by the way, the installed games through Steam:
- Hl2
- HL2 - Ep 1
- HL2 - Ep 2
- HL2 - Lost Coast
- Portal
- TF2
- Source SDK
- Source SDK Base
- Source SDK Base - Orange Box

I don't understand how you're able to install the Orange Box this way.
It should be in the Steam folder... or maybe that the retail version installs itself like this, I don't know.
I can't help, I know nothing about this kind of installation.

It does not. I own the retail version and it installed in the C:\Program Files\Steam\[etc.] directory like normal Steam games.

D:\Steam\SteamApps\Tosadalis\Portal\HL2.exe -game "D:\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\Portal Prelude"
D:\Games\Orange Box\SteamApps\RPGMorpheuS\Portal\HL2.exe -game "D:\Games\Orange Box\SteamApps\SourceMods\Portal Prelude"
